Apparently it's compulsory to have a personal website these
days, so this is mine.
It's a pretty casual affair and as you can see, there's not a whole lot going on.
I like to think I have a fairly wide range of skills. I'm happy to try my
hand at anything tech related, and I'm not half bad at a load of non-techy stuff too.
Here are just some of the things that I think I'm above average at.
Specifically AWS. I love working in the cloud (it's a shocker, I know) but it's something I'm not awful at and I really enjoy it! Of course, I also like to Terraform anything and everything.
In addition to Bash, everyone needs to know a scripting language. Given my dad basically is John Clease, of course mine had to be Python! I can write a few other languages including: PHP, JS and Go.
I know, I know; cyber security is a MASSIVE field and just saying 'security' could literally mean anything. But I have a working understanding in most areas. I know I'm not the best pen-tester in the world, but I can talk the talk, and when it comes to discussing impact, I can put it in terms normal people actually understand!
I might be a massive nerd, but I'm also fairly well rounded. I love getting
outdoors, cooking great food and exploring.
Here's just a few of the things I enjoy most at the moment.
Being located fairly close to the Peak District, I love to get out and stretch my legs in the hills. This really took hold during Covid, but i haven't stopped since. It's so nice to be able to escape the city and surround myself in nature
I'm not a vegan, or even a vegetarian, but I do try to minimise the meat that I eat, particularly beef. Because of this, I've learned to experiment with cooking and absolutely love to make Indian street food! The way the spices can turn a relatively boring food into an explosion of flavour is just glorious. When it's all that AND it's the healthy option, that's when you're really winning!
This is a big one. I've always been a big space nerd. Playing Kerbal Space Program and watching launches whenever they were on the TV. The Falcon Heavy launch of 2018 is what REALLY captured my imagination though. Following creators like Everyday Astronaught and Scott Manley, I've learnt a lot about space and the developments that we get as a result of explorination.
